Warehouses, Victorian terraces and the Dulwich plots
Bermondsey and Rotherhithe are dominated by warehouse conversions and newer apartment buildings, where outdoor space means a roof terrace, a balcony or a shared podium. Peckham, Camberwell and East Dulwich are Victorian terrace with long narrow rear gardens, many extended at the back. Dulwich Village and the streets around it are different again: substantial detached and semi-detached houses on large plots with mature trees, where full landscape schemes are the norm. The technical brief changes completely between the three, from structural loading to clay drainage to tree protection.
